These are my cute grandparents. They are amazing. This post is dedicated to one of the amazing things they do. My grandpa has an incredible talent. He can build anything out of wood. Every day he goes to his workshop and gets to work building toys for his grandkids or any other kids he comes across. He mostly does cars and trucks but he can pretty much build anything you can think of. I have described items I would like him to make and somehow, despite my poor art work and lack of detail, he comes up with something incredible. The St. George newspaper, The
Specturum, recently did an article on him. Since then he's had strangers call and request items. He always helps them out, but like a true modern day St. Nick he explains he's only in this business for the grandkids. If they are lucky he will accept payment for the lumber but nothing for labor. My grandparents have traveled all over this country multiple times and everywhere they go he's got a box full of toys he deposits along the way. Oh, and did I mention that he is 83!? You would never know it if I didn't tell you. So if anyone in the St. George area has extra wood scraps, I know someone who can put them to good use.

Here are just a FEW of the creations he has made for my family.

He is so sweet. My kids play with the trucks he gave us all the time. I am just glad we got 2 so that they don't have to fight ;) That really is such an awesome talent and he is so great to willingly share it with everyone.
I am not sure about the leg. I just keep stretching/strengthening and going to physical therapy - I do what they tell me. I can't imagine going a whole season without running a race. That hasn't happened since I started running in 2002. Bleh.
