"Let's get home from church boys so the Easter Bunny can come to our house?" When I said this to Beckett he gave me a strange look and said, "I don't want the Easter Bunny to come to our house." So we talked about it and discovered he thinks it's a little strange to have a bunny come hopping through our house and bring us stuff. We went through this with Santa too. He was terrified of him all season but I figured once he saw the toys he would change his mind. He didn't. The fact is he doesn't want large old men or cute little bunnies appearing when he's not around. I think it gives him that creepy feeling that someone is in his house that he can't see. This idea has translated to other beings that are real but not seen so we've had to nix Santa and the Easter Bunny at our house. That's right. We told him they are not real. "So why do I wake up some mornings and there are new toys and baskets full of candy mom?" Oh boy. "It's because Jesus was born and resurrected. That's right, the Easter Bunny, who is really mom, brought you this basket full of candy filled eggs and toys because Jesus lives. It doesn't make much sense to me either but at least it's fun and it helps us remember the two most important events of all time." So now I feel like I'm spoiling my children. I've realized that that is the reason Santa and the Easter Bunny were invented. It gives parents a chance to indulge their cravings of buying fun kid stuff without the guilt of spoiling their kids. It's all okay if it's an imaginary being. So anyways, sorry to spoil the fun but the Easter Bunny doesn't exist this year. Maybe next year.
After an uplifting Sunday morning spent pondering the miraculous gift and life of our Savior we went home. The boys looked so cute in their Easter clothes I tried so snap a few quick pics. You can see how well that went.
Graham got his mom's sweet tooth. Once he discovered what was in those eggs it was all over. Here he is savoring a jelly bean.
After some Easter time at our house we made the rounds to the grandparents. Graham loved his Peeps cupcake at Grandma and Grandpa Cummings'
At Nana and Papa's house the boys had an Easter egg hunt.
After a busy day celebrating life, family and our Savior, the boys crashed in their new jammies.

We told Anna we get presents for Easter because Jesus gave us the best present anyone could ever give, which is the resurrection. I realize then you have to explain the resurrection, but for Anna she got it. Evan, on the other hand, will probably be 12 before he does. lol. I love the pictures of them in their Easter clothes. I think candid shots like that will help you remember how they really are a lot better ;)
