We did it!

Despite my better judgment and irrational fear of water, my good friends talked me into doing a triathlon. It's something I always wanted to do, but you know, just couldn't find the right time or something (or I just couldn't see myself actually swimming in a lake). Well there is no time like the present right, so during a wild and crazy New Years Eve all hopped up on sugar my husband and I registered. The first time I got in the pool to practice swimming I almost had a panic attack and wanted to drop out, but I held back the tears and kept going. Now here I am on the other side, a triathlete. I have to say I am quite proud of myself. Many people would not consider it a great accomplishment to literally almost be the last one out of the lake, but when you're as surprised as I was to just be alive last doesn't matter. And the most surprising part of all.... I loved it! Even the swimming! (if you can call what I was doing swimming). It's true, there will be a second someday. No plans yet, I just finished. Let me bask in the glory a little alright! Jeremy did awesome. He was much faster than me. So thanks to all my family who helped take care of our kids and came to watch and support.

I am very proud of you Stacia and happy you didn't drown in the water. That would have been tragic. Maybe someday if I quit being so lazy I'll do a triathlon too. And for the record the swim is the only part I'm confident I could manage.

Way to go Stacia! That is so awesome that you overcame your fear and did it! I have no excuse for being slow in the water besides the fact that I stink at swimming. lol. Meh. Onto the Red Rock Relay! Speaking of, when will we know the legs we are running? Or is there going to be a team meeting of sorts?
